Hydrologists Act, 2017 Was enacted in 2017 after a lengthy process that first began in 1999. The initial Bill was proposed by the Hydrological Society of Kenya and was backed by successive Cabinet Ministers and Cabinet Secretaries in the Ministries responsible for Water.
ESTABLISHMENT/LEGAL INSTRUMENTS
The Hydrologists Registration Board is a body Corporate established under the Hydrologists Act No.19 of 2017 and is part of the institutions that fall under the Ministry of Water, Sanitation and Irrigation. The Board was established vide Kenya Gazette Notice No. CXX1 published on 19th July, 2019, and was officially inaugurated on 5th December, 2019.
